The Tulsa Race Massacre of African Americans

Image
The Tulsa Race Massacre of African Americans During World War I, the influence of Black Americans was rising, particularly in areas like Wall Street. Black neighborhoods, such as the well-known Black Wall Street in Greenwood, were prospering financially. White Americans largely tolerated this at the time, as Black Americans were needed to serve as soldiers in the war. On November 11, 1918, World War I officially ended. With the war over, the need that had driven this temporary tolerance also came to an end. Tensions escalated soon after. On May 30, 1921, Dick Rowland, a young African American shoe shiner, was falsely accused of assaulting a white elevator operator named Sarah Page in a building in downtown Tulsa. The next day, the Tulsa Tribune published a story claiming that Rowland had attempted to rape Page, along with an editorial suggesting that a lynching might take place that night. That evening, both Black and white crowds gathered outside the courthouse where Rowland was...

My Lai Massacre : A tale of rapes and cold blooded killings by US Army

Image
My Lai Massacre : A tale of rapes and cold blooded killings by US Army. My Lai is a small village in Quang Nai Vietnam. US soldiers used to address this region as "Pinkville"  because of the reddish colour(meaning pro communist region) used to indicate the densely populated My Lai area on military maps.  By the time Charlie Company of the 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 11th Infantry Brigade, arrived in Vietnam in December 1967. “Pinkville” had earned a reputation as a heavily mined hotbed of Viet Cong activity. In January 1968 Charlie was one of three companies tasked with the destruction of the 48th Battalion, an especially effective Viet Cong unit operating in Quang Ngai province. Throughout February and early March, Charlie Company suffered dozens of casualties due to mines and booby traps, but it failed to engage the 48th Batallion. After the debacle of the broad Tet offensive, the...

Right To Recall - Citizens' weapon against corruption and bad governance

Image
Right To Recall - Citizens' weapon against corruption and bad governance What is Right To Recall? Suppose there is a maid working in your home steals your precious gold ornaments. In this case, will you allow her to work in your home for few more months and steal more of your precious things or will you just throw her away from your house and hire a new one? It's obvious that you will just throw her away from your house and hire a new one.  As per Right To Recall , this should happen in case of politicians and government officials as well. If a politicians or a government official is looting the tax money or resources of the nation them the Public shall have the right to recall that corrupt official or politician. Public shouldn't have to wait for 5 years. Right To Recall will be a weapon of the commoners against corruption. Right to recall is present at local or state level in many developed nations as well.   Some Quotes regarding the Right to Recall in Indian History P...

When Bhagat Singh was invited by Joseph Stalin

Image
When Bhagat Singh was invited by Joseph Stalin A lesser-known event from the annals of the Indian revolutionary movement is the “invitation” that was sent to Bhagat Singh by the Soviet leader, Joseph Stalin. This invite could not reach Singh, so we can only speculate about what might have happened if it had been received and accepted. There is no doubt that had it all gone as planned, it had the potential to change the course of our freedom struggle. It was Shaukat Usmani  who connected Bhagat Singh and Stalin. He was  one of the founding members of the Communist Party of India established in Tashkent in 1920. Usmani was sent to India by MN Roy to establish contact with the Indian nationalists. He came in contact with the revolutionaries through Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, the famous editor of the Hindi daily, Pratap, which was published from Kanpur in 1920s. Bhagat Singh worked as a sub-editor at Pratap. He even reviewed Usmani’s political-cum-travel memoir, Peshawar to ...

Rooftop Koreans: An example advocating for the importance of citizen ownership of firearms

Image
Rooftop Koreans: An example advocating for the importance of citizen ownership of firearms   Rooftop Koreans or Roof Koreans refer to the Korean American business owners and residents  who armed themselves and took to the rooftops of local businesses to defend themselves  during the 1992 Los Angeles riots .  The unrest in urban areas was sparked by the acquittal of four Los Angeles Police Department officers in the beating of Rodney King and resulted in rioting, and looting, along with widespread violence and arson throughout the city. For years, there had been tensions between the Los Angeles Korean community and the African American communities, including the killing of Latasha Harlins, an African-American teenager who was controversially fatally shot by a Korean-American convenience store owner who received no jail time. Following the Rodney King verdict, Los Angeles police were unable to provide protection to many affected areas due to the overwhelming scale of t...

Judiciary and the Nation

Image
Judiciary and the Nation A society or a nation progresses when it rewards the good and discourages the bad. "Anti Social Elements in human Society are the biggest obstacles to achieve principles of Dharma in true letter and spirit. This creates a situation of 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙨𝙮𝙖-𝙉𝙮𝙖𝙮𝙖(Anarchy), which means might be right.  Big Fish swallows a small one.  Thus in order to maintain the order of the society, Dand Nitis is needed, 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙉𝙞𝙩𝙞 means punishment or use of force to control Anti anti-social elements in human society and persuade them to follow the dictates of 'Dharma'. " Now, a common question that might come to your mind is-  Who will punish the bad? The answer is the judiciary. It is the duty of judiciary to punish the bad and protect the innocent.  The failure of judiciary to deliver justice will lead to anarchy or lawlessness. Criminals will commit crimes when they don't have the fear of the judiciary. Rapes happen, politicians do corrup...

How BJP use Waqf board to fuel its politics of hate despite Waqf board being a defacto government body?

Image
How BJP use Waqf board to fuel its politics of hate despite Waqf board being a defacto government body?   Recently, I have been seeing many posts and discussions against the Waqf Board and its alleged illegal and immoral occupation of public and private property. However, the problem with many of these posts is that they deliberately ignore or hide key facts about the Waqf Board. The Waqf Board is a government body created through an Act passed by the Parliament of India. The government has the authority to suspend its functioning or correct its decisions if they are found to be against its principles. The Central Waqf Council operates under the Union Government, and its functioning is subject to government oversight. According to the Waqf Act, 1995, the Union Minister in charge of the Central Waqf Council has the power to frame rules regarding its functioning, including matters related to tenure, salaries of members, and control over Waqf funds (Section 12(1)). The Council can als...

The Illusion of Karma and Morality.

Image
The Illusion Of karma and Morality You might have heard many elders and religious gurus say that karma spares no one. There is even a famous quote: “Karma is a bitch.” But believing in the so-called Karma Siddhant is, in my view, an act of utter stupidity. I am not asking you to believe me blindly. Use your own logic and read this before concluding anything: Many freedom fighters who fought for the common people struggled to fulfill even their basic needs and died in poverty. Arabs who looted, raped, and killed millions acquired vast oil wealth. Turks are living better lives than many Indians; Aurangzeb ruled a larger landmass than Mihir Bhoj or Krishnadevaraya. Anglos, who killed and enslaved more than 500 million people, are now among those dominating the world and enjoying prosperous lives. Landlords and usurers who oppressed people became big businessmen, MLAs, and MPs in Indian democracy. Meanwhile, tribal populations in Africa, India, South America, and North America—who di...

Why I do not support Modi Government?

Image
Why I Do Not Support the Modi Government A leader is often judged on the basis of three key factors: the condition of the military,  the condition of the farmers, the condition of the workers. Let me address each of these one by one. 1) Condition of the Military Strong militaries are built on robust domestic weapons manufacturing. In my view, the government has not done enough to truly strengthen indigenous defense production. While it is often claimed that India’s defense exports are rising and that the country is becoming self-reliant, much of what we see involves systems assembled in India, with several critical components still imported from abroad. This raises questions about how deep that self-reliance really is. Additionally, the increase in FDI limits in the defense sector—from 49% to 75%—means greater participation of multinational companies. While some argue this brings investment and technology, it can also increase dependence on foreign entities for critical defense nee...

The Empty Land Tax: A Market-Based Alternative to Burdensome Taxation

Image
The Empty Land Tax: A Market-Based Alternative to Burdensome Taxation Jatin Mahaveer Singh • May 18, 2025 at 21:43 Introduction: What this all is about In a world dominated by complex and burdensome tax systems that distort market incentives and restrict individual freedom, the Empty Land Tax (ELT) emerges as a refreshingly simple alternative. A refined version of the Land Value Tax concept, the ELT targets only non-functional and unused land at a modest rate of 1% per annum, while offering generous exemptions for personal use. The current taxation system places excessive burdens on productive activities—we tax income (discouraging work), sales (discouraging consumption), and business (discouraging entrepreneurship). The ELT shifts the focus to an unproductive resource—unused land—creating powerful incentives for efficient use without punishing productivity. The Problem of Excessive Taxation in Today's India India's current taxation system represents a serious impediment to eco...

The Government: Beginning and Purpose

Image
Both Common Sense and Education state that it is the basic duty of every citizen to understand and partake in Politics. The partaking in politics doesn't just mean voting for your favorite politician or hooting for a specific political party, partaking in politics means understanding the very nature of politics which includes governance and administration of your country/state/district, organization of your society, comparative analyzing it with other countries and trying to implement the most efficient methods of organizing your society and Country, so it is always one step ahead of everyone else. Government and Society: An Important Distinction The Governed City: A Classic Painting Some authors have mixed society with the government so much, that they have little to no distinction between them but in reality, the society and government are not only different but also have different origins.  Society is born out of our needs, while government arises from man's nature of wrongd...
